Dr. Harold T. Friermood was born in La Junta, Colorado on September 14, 1902 and died in South Hadley, Massachusetts on March 2, 1999. He is best known for his involvement with the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and his contributions to physical education (specifically volleyball and swimming). Dr. Attallah Alexander “Ted” Kidess was born in Jerusalem, Palestine on December 25, 1910. Before coming to the United States, he earned degrees from American University in Cairo and Queens College in Oxford. At Springfield College, he earned a Master’s Degree (1935) and a Doctor of Physical Education Degree (1958).
