Materials within Series 4, Sub-series b: Football Team Papers and Memorabilia include brochures, manuscripts, posters, postcards, photographs, schedules, tickets, and other memorabilia created for and about the Springfield College Football team. Materials date from the early 1900s through the 1930s. Programs make up most of this series with programs from 1905, 1911, 1915, 1919, 1928, 1929, 1941, 1948, and 1951. There are photographs from various years from 1905, 1909, 1912, 1919, 1922, and most particularly from 1915. There are different items from the 1915 season, including a schedule, programs, and a coupon book for all the games of the year taking place on Springfield College’s Pratt Field. Of interest are an undated poster of a game at Pratt Field and some materials from a Harvard vs. Springfield College game, including an Usher’s pass card. A very unique piece is a glass plate negative of a SC player from 1896. It may be that this player is Ernest P. Bartlett, Class of 1896 (Documentation is in folder). In addition, there is a beautiful hanging schedule banner made out of crepe-type paper for the 1930 season.
