Research photographs, 1930-1960
Series 27 Scope and Contents
This series contains photos, negatives, slides, and 16mm films. The bulk of this series contains negatives, and rolled negatives depicting personal and professional aspects of Karpovich’s life. Rolled negatives show various outings such as to the Lincoln memorial, the beach, Springfield College Campus, 1929 Physiological Conference at Harvard, family pets, picnics, ice skating and a zoo. Two rolls of negatives show male nude swimmers for Karpovich’s earliest research at Springfield College. Some of the photographic prints, slides, and 16mm film document Karpovich’s research, but it is not known which research projects these materials belong to or there are no supporting research materials to collate together. Folders 7 and 8 in this series contain materials that may have been used for lectures.
