Series 03: Miscellaneous Campus Buildings, ca. 1885-2013

 Series — Multiple Containers
Identifier: 03

Series 03 Scope and Contents

This series contains correspondence, news articles, and photographs on individual buildings or complex of buildings. Most of these buildings either did not contain much information or documents, were on campus for a limited period of time, or were completely unidentified at the time of the collection’s creation and therefore were deemed more appropriate to keep together. Included within are materials on the World War I Student Army Training Corps (SATC) barracks built and created in 1918, newspaper articles and photographs on the Lakeside Village and Trailer Park Village on campus after World War II, and photographs and some memos on the Dana Fine Arts Center. Also of note are photographs on empty classrooms (in particular a physics classroom in 1946), the ice houses on Lake Massasoit that were close or on campus, the old book store, and the covered and raised walkway built in 1945 when the campus was used as US Naval Hospital.
