This series contains various reports written by Springfield College Faculty, students and staff, as well as outside agencies. With some of the reports are documentary memos, notes and correspondence. Of particular interest to Springfield College are two documents written in 1965 by Springfield College professor Britton C. McCabe about Watershops Pond, including “Watershops Pond as an Outdoor Classroom” and “Reports on Visits to Institutions of Higher Learning Relative to the Use of Watershops Pond for Outdoor Biology.” Other reports include, “Problems and Potentials of Watershops Pond,” written by Steven Olsen in 1968, “Watershops Ponds Analysis of Problems” written by Stuart Ludlam in 1975, Springfield Lakes and Ponds: Inventory and Restoration Plan (presented to City of Springfield Park Commissioners by Baystate Environmental Consultants, Inc. and Purcell Associates), May, 1980, and a Feasibility Study done as part of the City of Springfield’s Clean Lake Program Application Form, a program run by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Quality Engineering Division of Water Pollution Control, dated January 18, 1983. The largest report is the “Diagnostic/Feasibility Study for the Restoration and Management of Lake Massasoit” by Baystate Environmental Consultants, Inc. This is the final draft of the report created under the Department of Environmental Quality Engineering Division of Water Pollution Control, under MGL Chap. 628, Massachusetts Clean Lakes Program and was released in April 1986.
