Series 5 Scope and Contents
Materials within Series 5: Photographs include slides, contact sheets and photographic prints most likely taken in 1969 and 1970. The photographs were mainly taken during the protests and building takeovers conducted by the students of Springfield College toprotest Black Student Rights, Peace, and general student rights on the campus of Springfield College. The takeover of Massasoit Hall in 1970 and both takeovers of the Administration Building, May 1969 and April 1970, are representedin the series, including many photos of the Springfield City Police force arrival on campus during the April 1970 protest.
