Abstract
Dr. James Genasci was born in 1928. He attended Springfield College, receiving his Bachelor of Science in 1950 and a Master of Science in 1955. He got a Doctor of Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1960. He was an Associate Professor of Physical Education and eventual Assistant Director of the Division of Graduate Studies at Springfield College from 1963 to 1994. Dr. Genasci was also an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, co-founding the Pioneer Valley Chapter of PFLAG, Inc....

Leslie J. Judd was born on August 6, 1888. Widely regarded as one of the founders of modern collegiate gymnastics, Judd graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor’s in physical education (B.P.E.) in 1920. He was promptly hired by the college as a Professor of Physical Education and Head Gymnastics Coach, positions he held until he retired on April 1, 1955. Josephine Langworthy Rathbone (1899-1989) was born in New York City on June 25, 1899 to Henry Bailey Rathbone and Floy Pearl Langworthy. Rathbone attended primary and secondary school in New Jersey before attending Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts and receiving a BA in 1921.
