Materials included in Series 3, Sub-series a- Alumni Oral Histories: 1910s-1920, are transcriptions and audio recordings of oral histories from Alumni who graduated from Springfield College in the years between 1910 and 1920. The audio files are kept either on the original cassettes or as a digital file on CDs. The oral histories in this section include some Springfield College student and Coaches like Samuel Pond and Leslie Judd. Leslie Judd was a professor of humanics and he became the College's first full-time gymnastics coach in 1921. Some of the themes discussed in these oral histories are the physical makeup of the campus, social life on and off of the campus, and the role of the YMCA at the College. In the oral history with Samuel Pond, he recalls a particular scandal regarding the teachings of progressive professor, Dr. Ballentine.
