Series 3b Scope and Contents
Materials included in Series 3, Sub-series b- Alumni Oral Histories: 1920s-1930, are transcriptions and audio recordings of oral histories of Alumni who graduated from Springfield College in the years between 1921 and 1930. The audio files are on the original cassettes or as digital files on CDs. Included are oral histories with Springfield College Faculty like Robert Berry, who was the president of the Alumni Association. Also included is the oral history with the nephew of James Naismith, Reginald Alden, who graduated from the College in 1921. Themes that are discussed in these oral histories include the effects of the Jazz age at the school, school traditions, and how students spent leisure time both on and off of the campus.
