Series 3c Scope and Contents
Materials included in Series 3, Sub-series c- Alumni Oral Histories: 1930s-1940, are transcriptions and audio recordings of oral histories of Alumni who graduated in the years between 1931 and 1940. The audio files are on the original cassettes or as digital files on CDs. Included are oral histories with Faculty and Coaches of Springfield College like Charles Silvia and Attallah Kidess. Also included is the oral history with Dorothy Audette, the first part-time female student to receive her undergraduate degree from the College. Audette attended the school from 1934-1936 and she describes what her experience being a student at the College was like. Other themes discussed in the oral histories include campus traditions, intercollegiate sports, and the experience of being an international student on campus. Another major theme discussed is the effect that the Great Depression had on students and campus life.
