Series 05 Scope and Contents
Materials included in Series 05: Faculty Oral Histories are transcriptions and audio recordings of oral histories of former members of the faculty of Springfield College. The audio files are on the original cassettes or as a digital file on CDs. Some of these faculty members include Dr. Jesse Parks, Dr. Robert Wehner, Dr. Margaret Thorson, and Dr. Joel Cohen. Dr. Whener’s oral history details his time in flight school at Springfield College in the 1940s. Some other themes include the addition of Bemis Hall, community impressions of the school, and the 1969-70 student protests. Dr. Margaret Thorson also talks about the start of women attending the College full time.
