Gulick Writings: Formerly Bound Volume 1 (4 of 7), 1902-1904
Series 4 Scope and Contents
Throughout his career, Gulick was both a prolific author and lecturer. The materials within this series are an almost exhaustive collection of Gulick’s essays, articles, addresses, lectures, reports, etc., and this series includes both published and unpublished material. The bulk of these texts are either type-written or pages and clippings taken directly from the sources in which they were published. There are few hand-written texts and notes. Included here are 14 formerly-bound volumes (presumably arranged by Gulick himself) of his writings. These volumes have been unbound for preservation purposes, but they remain in their original order. There are also several bound manuscripts in this series. These writings concern the broad spectrum of topics in which Gulick was interested, including physical education, play, hygiene and health, gender roles, camping, folk dancing, and amateur athletics.
