Materials within Series 2, Sub-series f: Massasoit Hall, March 10,1970 include printed college documents, memos, correspondence, transcripts, legal documents, newspaper articles, and reports that are centered around the takeover of Massasoit Hall on March 10, 1970. This includes lists of the students who were involved intheMassasoit Hall takeover, their punishment, and somebiographicinformation. There arecopies of letters that weresent to thestudents and the parents. And there are court documents from the case, referred to as “SC vs. Kenneth L. Autry, John D. Dover...” involving the students of the takeover. This is all in addition to many documents outlining the events that occurred on March 10th and the response of the College through the month of May 1970. Documents of note include a position paper by the Black Faculty, a position paper of the Black Alumni Caucus, 4 Trustee reports with notes and supporting documentation (multiplecopies) written by President Wilbert E. Locklin, a letter from the Ten College Afro-American Council Committee (of greater Springfield area), and a document concerning the appeal of Lawrence M. Libow from summary action of dismissal.
