Willis D. Piper (Class of 1921) Scrapbook Scope and Contents

This is a scrapbook made either by or for Willis D. Piper. Whoever made the scrapbook started filling in information and saving pictures starting in April of 1918 and finishing in December of 1921. This book is a Memory and Fellowship Book produced by the College Memory Book Company and is a maroon leather-bound book is 17” x 12 ½” x 1”. There is a large white “S” in the front of the scrapbook. The beginning of this book has a guide on how to make a proper scrapbook with a nameplate for Willis D. Piper. There are two sections: Book of Friends (date, name, home, birthday anniversary, and happy thought table) and the photograph section. In the “book of friends” section, there are four pages with this table back and front with 26 names of people who knew Willis D. Piper. The photograph pages have various pictures of the campus (residence halls, lake Massasoit, marsh memorial, the football field), various activities (gymnastics, swimming, football), and people (friends, professors). The edges of the book are torn, and the binding is in poor condition.
